Overview

Under direct supervision, using standard processes and continuous improvements, the Clamping Automation Operator operates the Clamping Equipment Machines which assembles the clamps various size couplings in a timely and efficient manner that meet the quality standards to ensure the delivery of world-class products to Tyler Pipe & Coupling customers.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for machine set-up/adjustments. Coordinates production changes and requests maintenance for the machines.
  2. Responsible for removing and setting up dies and die components for the proper operation of the equipment.
  3. General maintenance of automated clamping equipment and its supporting equipment.
  4. Use of hand tools: allen-wrenches, snipes and other tools to guide material through dies.
  5. Use of material handling equipment (Pallet Jack, powered material loader, etc) to load material to the various supporting equipment.
  6. Troubleshoot and clear all equipment faults via the Siemens Software Program.
  7. Loads component parts, such as clips, housings, screws and strap coils into proper location. Visually observes and controls flow of all component parts into designated stations.
  8. Responsible for rework, salvage materials and the sorting of components used.
  9. Responsible for Production, Quality of Product and Documentation of daily numbers.
  10. Keeps area and equipment clean and orderly at all times.
  11. Must verify the quality of the clamps during production, in intervals of 15-30 minutes.
  12. Operate multiple Clamping Equipment when required.

 

Qualifications

  1. Ability to sit/stand for periods of up to 8 hours.
  2. Repetitive grasping and gripping with hands.
  3. Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs. 
  4. Must be able to work in a plant environment with exposure to odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals. 
  5. Good mechanic ability and manual Dexterity. 
  6. Basic computer skills required. 
  7. Ability to work indepently and follow directions.
